An insider's view of Hibernate 3.0 and EJB 3

This presentation will focus on Hibernate and the relationship between Hibernate and the upcoming EJB 3 feature set. Highlighted will be new features in Hibernate 3.0 including inheritance mapping, temporal and regional data, and the ability to use Hibernate along with hand-written SQL as a JDBC framework. Gavin King will also provide some insight into the activities of the EJB 3 expert committee and provide a preview of yet to be announced features of EJB 3.
About Gavin King
Gavin King is the founder of the Hibernate project, the leading persistence solution for Java. He is an active member of the JSR-220 expert group, and contributed heavily to the design of EJB 3.0. With Christian Bauer, he was author of "Hibernate in Action". Gavin works for JBoss, Inc, leading the development of Hibernate, implementing EJB 3.0, and providing services to JBoss customers. He lives in Melbourne, Australia, and Atlanta, Georgia.
About Steve Ebersole
Steve Ebersole is a core developer on Hibernate, the open source Object/Relational Mapping and Transparent Object Persistence product. Steve was born in Pennsylvania where he graduated from college prior to becoming a Calvary Scout with the United States Army. Steve started his career in computing working with COBOL on MVS and AS/400 systems before working largely on relational database OLTP and OLAP systems. Steve currently resides in Austin, Texas with his wife and son and is an employee of JBoss, Inc whose professional open source methodology yields enterprise open source.
